it’s so nice to meet you

Hi! I’m Nina. I am a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic health counselor, and breathwork facilitator. Although my degree is in Public Health Policy, I have found that we cannot grow as a community until we can change as individuals. In my own journey of evolution, I am grateful to have experienced and become proficient in various mind-body modalities.

Beyond my work at Transform in Opelika, I also teach vinyasa yoga at The Yoga Room in Auburn and therapeutic yoga for The Nourish Foundation.

If you would like to sponsor a Nourish patient to continue their yoga practice with me, please reach out to me or the organization.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

what I pull from

Public Health Policy

After losing several family members to medical conditions, I was determined to understand the system that was not able to serve them. I created my own degree to include the physical, social, and political sciences that continue to inform how I approach individual and community health.

Psychotherapeutic Yoga

My first yoga training was through a counseling clinic that incorporated both the mental health and yogic practices. This introduction to yoga allowed me to build a foundation for my practice that always considers the mind when working with the body, and vice versa.

Ayurveda

Within months of learning about Ayurveda, I ended up in another state to continue my studies. Although I do not currently provide consultations, I am always referring back to Ayurvedic wisdom to assess imbalances in the body and explore new ways to understand the body-mind connection.

Breathwork

Although there are various breathwork practices to pull from in our 1:1 sessions, my group classes focus on the methods created by Millana Snow that involves elements of reiki, meditation, and holotropic breathwork. I also encourage journaling or vocal expression.

Vinyasa Yoga

I spent my first five years of yoga practice releasing through slow, therapeutic movements. Since moving to Auburn, I have fallen in love with vinyasa and recently completed my second training at The Yoga Room. However, I do not incorporate this practice in my 1:1 sessions.

Psychology

Through many of my experiences, I have been exposed to various philosophies and psychological concepts from Eastern and Western perspectives. I am continually interested in somatic psychology, humanistic theory, Eastern philosophy, Jungian archetypes, and internal family systems.

I don’t believe we get anywhere great alone.

My work has only evolved under the compassionate guidance of my incredible teachers and mentors.
